le quote

If you’re twenty-two, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel - as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them- wherever you go.

posing nude, marrying a prince,

that is still undeniable all of these
years later.

When i was in high school, i took a film as literature class that changed
how i will forever watch films
(my teacher would throw up glitter if she knew i said this)
(she was a bitch)
One of the films i got to see
was called "Il Positino",
which means the postman in Italian.
The story is about a postman living in Sicily in the 1950's who delivers
mail to a man named Pablo Neruda. The postman becomes inspired by
Pablo's love stories, and the film ends with the postman falling in love.
i was so pleased to learn that Pablo Neruda was a real poet from Chile.
He endured a very dramatic life as a communist who was often
in hiding or exile from his home country.
Neruda had been a poet his whole life,
but my absolute favorite poems come from the book
100 love sonnets, which
were written all to his third wife,
Matilde Urrutia.

(is this cheesy? hellz yes, but this is my blog so shh)

LVII

They're liars, those who say i lost the moon,
who foretold a future like a public desert for me,
who gossiped so much with their cold tongues
they tried to ban the flower of the universe

"'The quick spontaneous mermaids' amber
is finished. Now he has only the people."
And they gnawed on their incessant papers,
they plotted an oblivion for my guitar.

But I tossed - ha! - into their eyes! - the dazzling lances
of our love, piercing your heart and mine.
I gathered the jasmine your footsteps left behind.

I got lost in the night, without the light
of your eyelids, and when the night surrounded me
I was born again: I was the owner of my own darnkess

lets all cry rainbows together now.
